What Is Anxiety

Just like everyone feels sad from time to time, we all experience anxiety too and it will affect each one of us differently,

People may get anxious about giving a speech, going to a job interview, first date, talking to the opposite sex etc, there are many different ways we may experience anxiety

People struggling with anxiety don’t get anxious about one specific event, say giving a speech, for example,

They feel anxious about a wide range of events and scenarios on a constant basis.

People with Anxiety may feel anxious most days and often struggle to remember the last time they felt relaxed.

As soon as one anxious thought is resolved, another may appear about a different issue

Symptoms of Anxiety

Increased heart rate or increased muscle tension
‘Jelly legs’ or tingling in the hands and feet
Hyperventilation (breathing too heavily) or dizziness
Difficulty in breathing or a tight band across the chest
Wanting to use the toilet more often
Feeling sick
Tension headaches
Hot flushes or increased perspiration
Dry mouth
Shaking or palpitations
Choking sensations
